RAPIDOS:
3D printing on bone regeneration
The research project titled "rapid prototyping of custom-made bone-forming tissue engineering constructs" (RAPIDOS) is a collaboration between AO Foundation, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, targeting the development of technologies for the production of custom-made structures for the repair or regeneration of human tissues, and the improved manufacturing and performance of custom-made scaffolds for tissue repair or regeneration in the medium to long term.

Osteochondral Defects (OCD) Repair
Collaborations from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The University Medical Center Utrecht, and The Erasmus University Medical Center to develop OCD repair through:

-
3D Printing of PCL/PLGA/TCP/Mg Scaffolds.
-
Investigating the Macrophage Behavior on Mg-based Composite Scaffold during subchondral bone formation of OCD repair.

Collaborative PhD project:
The use of a novel magnesium implant for avascular necrosis
The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Odense University Hospital established the "Joint Research Programme in Musculoskeletal Research and Regenerative Medicine" with the purpose of promoting and performing high-level research within the field.
The initial focus of collaboration aimed at developing novel biomaterials/ scaffolds/ devices for enhancing and stimulating bone regeneration and antimicrobial efficacy in preclinical investigations and clinical trials.
The programme also involved staff and postgraduate student exchange between the institutes.
