About
Since 2013
The Musculoskeletal Regeneration Research Network (MRN) is an international consortium to promote MSK regeneration and translational research to encourage collaboration to enhance achievement. It was launched on November 13, 2013 during the 3rd International Symposium of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine.

Founding Members

Musculoskeletal regeneration research network:
A global initiative
In 2015, with the lead of Prof. Chan Kai-Ming from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the founding members drafted the Musculoskeletal regeneration research network: A global initiative, and was published in the Journal of Orthopaedic Translation via Elsevier.
The paper emphasises the establishment and mission of MRN as a global collaborative initiative to accelerate translational research in musculoskeletal regeneration.

MRN: Progress
To date, 34 institutions worldwide are members of the MRN. Over the past decade, we have established a strong foundation and continue to grow, enabling access to new grants, collaborative publications, and staff and student exchange programmes.

Our annual international symposiums provide a platform for member institutions to present recent work, explore future research opportunities, and strengthen collaborations. The upcoming meetings are planned for 2026 (Macau, China) and 2027 (Davos, Switzerland).
